Hosting provider

This website is hosted at DigitalOcean in the US. The provider processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, time, requested files) to deliver the page. Where available, I choose a European location. I do not keep my own server logs.

Which data is collected

For purely browsing, I do not collect any personal data. I do not use tracking pixels or analytics tools. There are no contact forms and no comment boxes, so there are no hidden data fields either.

I do not use cookies. That is unfortunate for the Cookie Monster, but good for everyone who does not want to share their data.

Speedtest (/fast)

If you use the speedtest, your browser downloads a test file from speed.cloudflare.com to measure the download speed realistically. This technically involves transfer data: IP address, requested file, data volume, timestamps. These pass through the logs of Cloudflare and the host and disappear after the usual retention periods. The measured values (speed, latency, duration) remain visible only in your browser and are neither sent to me nor logged server-side.

For external links (GitHub, Unsplash), the privacy rules of the respective provider apply. Check those yourself—I have no influence over their tracking.

Your rights

Since no personal data is collected, there is nothing to export, delete, or correct. If you have any questions, feel free to write to [email protected].

I deliberately use Artificial Intelligence (AI) on this website, but not to generate content. It supports me with wording and translations. The texts and ideas come from me.

Having an AI write entire posts does not make sense to me. They would not provide any original insight and would make the site redundant. For me, AI is a tool, not a replacement.
