Automattic announced in its blog post “Shipping Tumblr and WordPress” that Tumblr blogs will be migrated to WordPress. This decision was foreseeable after large parts of the staff were moved to other projects and the attempt to revive Tumblr failed. Going forward, the same product will technically be marketed under two brand names. In the long run this will probably be reduced to a single brand — I’d bet on that. ...
