I’ve been using Plex for several years, initially on a Mac mini and more recently running it in a Docker container. Every so often a problem with the database crops up. Until now I had to search forums for fixes to repair a corrupted database. Recently the issue reappeared, and someone has simplified the repair process with an automated script. The script is available at »ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair«. The procedure is straightforward: clone the repository, run ./DBRepair.sh, choose the option 1 to stop the Plex Media Server, and then select 2 for the automatic repair. The whole process takes only a few minutes and requires no further input, except at the end to choose option 7 to restart the Plex Media Server. ...

As an enthusiastic user of the Plex software, I find it ideal for centrally managing movies, TV shows and audiobooks on my home server. However, I run into a small problem: audiobooks aren’t indexed very well1. But thanks to the plugin Audnexus I can work around this issue. It’s been running here for about six months and has been working perfectly. So it’s my clear recommendation to anyone who wants to centralize their audiobooks in a similar way. ...
